Gowling WLG is a multinational law firm formed by the merger of Canada-based Gowlings and UK-based Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co in 2016, in the first multinational law firm combination co-led by a Canadian firm.

Its real estate team advised NFU Mutual on its investment in a series of large, premium build-to-rent developments. The investment joint venture includes six assets, representing a total of 3,050 homes in the largest regional build-to-rent funding deal completed in the UK.

The firm’s intellectual property team secured multiple Court of Appeal wins for InterDigital, one of the world’s largest mobile and video technology research and development companies, in its litigation against Lenovo, the Chinese multinational technology company.

Its life sciences team advised its longstanding client AstraZeneca on a collaboration and license agreement with the biopharmaceutical company Quell Therapeutics. The deal will enable the companies to develop, manufacture and commercialise engineered cell therapies for treating autoimmune diseases.
