The family law specialist firm has been involved in several influential decisions in the past year, including the case of H-N, where the Court of Appeal gave guidance on how the family courts should deal with allegations of domestic abuse. That guidance stipulated that the courts should shift from focusing on specific claims to the wider context illustrated by patterns of behaviour.

The firm also acted in the case known as AD v BD, an appeal that provided an insight into the courts’ approach to dealing with financial remedies in well-off families.

Goodman Ray has been involved in several international child proceedings, including G v G, which was heard earlier this year at the Supreme Court and dealt with child abduction and asylum law.

In another notable case, the firm represented a mother in a High Court action that dealt with the benefit of a guardian being appointed for children in child abduction proceedings.
