Good Night, and Good Luck competition

Co-written, co-starring and directed by George Clooney, Good Night, And Good Luck is a gripping political thriller set in the McCarthy era about a broadcast journalist who took on McCarthy at the height of the communist witch hunts, with nothing but the truth and won. Released to buy on DVD on 26th June, Good Night, And Good Luck was nominated for five Academy Awards, four Golden Globes and five BAFTA Awards, winning the David Lean Award for Direction.

Shot in crisp black and white and set in a few rooms at the CBS News headquarters, Good Night, And Good Luck interweaves engrossing real-life footage from the witch-hunt trials with the indelible and electric tale of Edward Murrow’s reports. Stylish, topical and relevant to the issues of today, the film features outstanding performances from David Strathairn and the supporting cast. Special features on the DVD include an audio commentary by Grant Heslov and George Clooney, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and a comprehensive photo gallery.
