Go Lower wins low carb deals

Kevin Dorren, the former software chief who started the business this year with corporate lawyer Hannah Sutter, said sales of the firm’s first chocolate, nut and berry snack bars were growing at 50% a month as shoppers clamoured for Atkins-friendly low-carbohydrate products. The duo have now won investment from Kate Cherkoff — who founded £8m-a-year Kate’s Cakes — and Steve Senior, who founded and sold the Edinburgh-based £7m-a-year cafe concession business Coffee Partners.

The strengthened board helped swing Go Lower’s biggest deal yet with Spring Fine Foods, a key supplier to FTSE 100 catering group Compass and French giant Sodexho, the world’s largest catering groups. Dorren said they were seeking to satisfy “big demand”, especially in the southeast office market, for low-carb and healthy snack options.
