Glenshee whoopee

The first commercial ski lift in Scotland?

Sir, Perhaps whoever arranged the simple lawnmower-engine-powered ski lift on a Northamptonshire golf course lived near Glenshee, in Perthshire, at some time past (“Lift for the local economy”, In my view, Jan 14). In the early 1960s Glenshee had an agricultural tractor with a continuous rope to get people up the slope. It sure beat walking up and may have been the first commercial ski lift in Scotland.
