Getting into the carnival spirit

A member of the Brazilian samba school, Unidos de Vila Isabel, checks its float in preparation for the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, which starts on February 25. Under the theme, “I’m Crazy For You America”, 3,800 people will parade at the school’s carnival event in the Sambodromo.

President Chavez of Venezuela has donated £258,000 towards the £2 million cost of the school ‘s floats and costumes. The Government will distribute 25 million free condoms during the carnival holiday to promote safe sex.
