George Roshan Sothinathan was born on January 13, 2022, at
St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London, to Serena, 38, and Roshan Sothinathan, 38

George is a “real-life doll” for his three sisters Marie, 6, Lily, 5, and Rose, 2. “The girls have really taken to him and try to play with him all the time,” says Roshan, who is thrilled to have some male company in the house at last.

“My dad is pleased that the family name carries on.” After three girls, Roshan and Serena decided to find out the baby’s sex this time.

The name George was inspired by Roshan’s childhood nickname. “My younger sister couldn’t say ‘Rosh’ so instead called me ‘Rorge’ after George in The Jetsons.” He muses on the logistics of going on holiday with four children in tow.

“Between me and Serena it will be an arm per child.” They may need to enlist the help of grandparents Raj, Jesy, Ivan and Fay, all of whom are very active in the children’s lives. “We are really lucky to have them nearby,” he says.

George Alexander Michael Stewart-Moore was born on September 13, 2021, at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh to Katharine, 38, and Tom Stewart-Moore, 38

When George arrived he was a large baby. “He’ll make great front-row material,” says his father, Tom, a keen rugby enthusiast, and with his diverse lineage (Irish father, English mother, French great-grandmother on one side and Welsh on the other) it means he’ll be eligible to play for five out of the six nations.

His mother, Katharine, is more keen on him exploring his musical abilities and “there may be a bit of a tussle to see which path he takes”, says Tom.

They didn’t know whether they were having a boy or girl so prepared a handful of names. Michael is a nod to George’s grandfather but, deciding they couldn’t name him George Michael, they added in Alexander, after his great-grandfather, too.
