F1 CAREER CHALLENGE

(EA Sports/PS2)

£39.99

HERE IS yet another racing title aimed at Formula One fans that looks good but seems destined to be an also-ran in an already over-saturated market. F1 Career Challenge lets you compete in the four previous seasons (1999-2002) of the F1 Championship. The ubiquitous quick race option is included, but, as the title suggests, the meat of this game is in the career mode. You begin by acquiring your superlicence that involves a pretty basic tutorial similar to the one in Gran Turismo 3. Once qualified, you are free to take job offers from real team bosses with a view to working your way to the top. All the teams, drivers and tracks are accounted for in exquisite detail, but the entire game is spoilt by cars that handle as if they have four flat tyres.
