Sony/PS2 (£29.99)
A great-looking Japanese ghost story, the sequel to 2004’s impressive original is a clever attempt to bring new ideas to the genre.
Playing separately as several people shipwrecked on an island inhabited by the undead, you must unite the survivors and unlock the secrets of the island. The main problem with the game is that the missions are too short, and the control screen that allows you to choose your next character and task is as enticing to look at and manipulate as an Excel spreadsheet. That said, die- hard ghost game fans will have few opportunities to die harder this year.
