Schott NYC has updated its American College bomber jacket in a new range of colours, including silver, green and blue, £150. It’s a version of the MA-1 flying jacket originally designed for Second World War US air force pilots, made from lightweight technical fabrics (schott-store.com).

Brand watch: Descente

Japanese company Descente started life in Osaka in 1935 as a clothing store opened by Takeo Ishimoto. Over the decades Descente has developed materials and clothing for kit sports from skiing to cycling to golf, making pieces for the likes of American speed skater Eric Heiden and Japanese cycling champion Koichi Nakano in the Eighties. Its technical clothing has now crossed over into streetwear, and it opened its first European store off Carnaby Street at the end of last year, selling items such as a men’s training fleece top, £106, and F-360 running jacket, £153(020 7371 9142).

Instrmnt x Freddie Grubb city bike, £999.99

5 reasons why we love... Instrmnt x Freddie Grubb city bike
1. It is a collaboration between design studio Instrmnt and London bicycle builders Freddie Grubb. 2. A two-speed shifter automatically moves you into a higher gear. 3. It stops with a pedal-operated SRAM coaster brake. 4. It has a leather top tube protector … 5. … that matches the handmade leather saddle (£999.99; instrmnt.co.uk/bike).
