Flight plan

- Flybe (www.flybe.com) is to introduce a service between Newcastle and Gatwick, taking over the route from Jet2, which ceases flying between the two cities on March 29. There will be three flights a day, with one-way fares starting at £21.99. New Aberdeen-Newcastle services start on the same day; from £13.39, one-way.

- EasyJet (www.easyjet.com) has started flights from Gatwick to Greece's second city, Thessaloniki; from £27.99, one-way.

- FlyYeti (www.flyyeti.com ) is the latest silly name to hit the skies. It has launched flights from its Kathmandu hub to Sharjah, in the UAE, with more routes expected soon.

- British Airways (www.ba.com) is running yet another Club World offer, with 50% off flights to Orlando and Tampa (from £1,299 return, saving up to £1,369). There are savings of between 23% and 33% on 48 other long-haul destinations. Flights must be booked by March 4, for travel this spring, through www.ba.com/clubholiday.
