Brand watch: IJP
IJP is the brainchild of world Top Ten golfer Ian (James) Poulter, who aside from playing the sport since the age of 4, grew up selling clothes from a market stall. IJP, launched in 2007, has attracted fans from Dougray Scott to Jamie Redknapp. Poulter’s gear has been criticised as being too brash, but there’s still something surprisingly wearable about his Classic Trousers in Mist, £84.95, and the Hidden Button shirt in Poulter Pink, £54.95 (ijpdesign.com).

5 reasons why we love... Samsung Galaxy Ace
1. It’s a fast smartphone with 3G, wi-fi, Bluetooth, etc, that won’t break the bank. 2. It has Google Latitude – sat-nav, basically – and a find-a-friend feature. 3. Five-megapixel camera has autofocus, flash and continuous and panorama modes. 4. It’s on the slick Android 2.2 operating system. 5. The Swype texting method is a hell of a lot faster than straight typing (£199; samsung.com/uk/galaxyace).
