Fladgate prides itself on its ability to be agile and respond quickly. When its client Yo! Sushi, the chain of conveyor-belt sushi restaurants, asked its lawyers to review leases across 60 sites in five days, it rose to the task, and when the company’s conveyor belts needed to be repurposed to make sure that customers could eat safely during the pandemic, the law firm dealt speedily with the licensing issues.

Fladgate advised Zouk Capital, a private equity fund manager, on a joint venture with the multinational telecoms business Liberty Global to roll out on-street electric vehicle charging points in the UK. Its lawyers were also instructed by Guild Esports, which puts together teams to compete in video-game competitions and is backed by David Beckham. It listed on the London Stock Exchange last October.
