Sir, After Château Mouton Rothschild’s promotion to premier cru status in June 1973 (letter, Feb 11), it changed its label for the 1973 vintage bottling to declare “Premier je suis, second je fus, Mouton ne change” (First I am; second I was; Mouton does not change). I still cherish the bottle from which my father and family enjoyed the 1973 wine in the late 1970s.
