A woman who was seriously injured in a fire that killed her boyfriend on New Year’s Day has been discharged from hospital.

Rebecca Williams, 24, was left in a critical condition by the blaze at the family home of her boyfriend, Cameron Logan, in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire. She has now been discharged from hospital, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said.

Blair Logan, 26, appeared in court on Monday charged with murdering his brother Cameron, 23, a psychology student, and was remanded in custody. He was also charged with assault to severe injury, danger to life and attempted murder when he appeared at Dumbarton sheriff court.

Ms Williams, a broadcast journalist with Global Radio, was rescued from the Achray Place house and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow before being moved to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Mr Logan’s parents, Cathy and David, both 54, were also taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. The family dog, Gomez, died in the blaze.
