There is more franchise-squeezing desperation in Final Destination 3 that doesn’t end with its oxymoron of a title. Here are more teenagers we don’t really care about inadvertently cheating the Grim Reaper after a premonition saves them from a fatal roller-coaster accident. Cue Death picking off this new batch of offenders, from barbecuing one in a tanning salon to toying with others in a hardware store. This is all about trying to guess which of the ludicrously overdetermined potential hazards will deliver a gory coup de grace, but the film is more lurid than witty enough to rate as black comedy.
