Sir, I am very disappointed how everyone seems so quick to write off the England union rugby team. Yes, they have lost eight games out of the last nine, but they have also demonstrated moments of fantastic rugby. This is surely down to the coach and staff. It is the execution that has let them down, which in time will come. Putting it into perspective, Australia and France have also played terribly this autumn.
We need to give the up-and-coming talents a chance to work together. Maybe those in charge should concentrate on finding another Jonny Wilkinson before the World Cup, as many of the scorelines would have been different had England scored every penalty and conversion chance.
If tickets for Twickenham didn’t cost so much, there would be a crowd full of pride and singing, enjoying the atmosphere as well as the game and getting behind the team as they do in Murrayfield and Cardiff.
