The family of a nursing assistant who disappeared two weeks ago are “desperately worried”.
Petra Srncova, 32, was last seen getting off a bus near her home in Camberwell, south London, after withdrawing money from a cashpoint. She was on her way home from a shift at a children’s hospital.
Her relatives in Czechia have told police that her disappearance is “out of character”. A man has been arrested in connection with the case, but last night police refused to give any further details about his detention “for operational reasons”.
The Czech-born Srncova left the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, across the Thames from parliament, at 7.45pm on November 28 and boarded a bus towards Elephant & Castle, where she is believed to have used an ATM, before heading home. She was last seen at 8.22pm.
Srncova was reported missing by a concerned colleague five days later after failing to turn up for work.

Harriet Harman, Srncova’s local MP, appealed for information, saying: “Her parents are desperately worried about her and we have a responsibility to help find her. She was away from her country and her family here, working in our National Health Service.”
