Fated

15, 98 mins

Struggling with a premise that would barely support a 30-minute short, Fated is another inglorious addition to this year’s British releases. Set on New Year’s Eve in a Liverpool full of crowing Lily Savage-alikes, this sentimental, supernatural tale brings back to life the statue of a dead French art student.

Katrine De Candole turns in a performance of such unmitigated awfulness that she’s out-acted by her bronze-coated likeness. The rest of the cast is little better.
