Thirteen years after the art student (De Candole) he loved was killed, a lecturer and sculptor (Angelis) carves a statue in her memory that then comes to life. This study of grief and notions of love is couched in an adult fairytale that, despite its mist-filled locations around Liverpool, never becomes magical. The dialogue is often too arch and awkwardly handled in novice- like turns by De Candole and Brendan Mackey as the young bouncer she needs to kiss to secure immortality or perish.
