This top-ten practice went transatlantic in 2017 when Eversheds merged with Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan. It provides legal services to a global client base from 74 offices in 35 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US.

This year, its corporate practice was instructed by the British telecoms group Daisy Group and its founder, Matthew Riley, on the £1 billion sale of its cloud-based business Digital Wholesale Solutions to Inflexion, a private equity firm.

Its real estate practice advised the commercial property development and investment company Landsec on more than 800 rent concession agreements with commercial tenants who were enduring the challenges of Covid-19.

The firm also played a leading role in advising the Serious Fraud Office on its long-running dispute with the Kazakh mining company Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation, culminating in an 11-week trial.
