Even the most unappetising concoctions can thrive if there’s a demand for them. In Enter Shikari’s case, lashings of screamo guitars and ravey “synthscapes” have found them an audience. Stylistically, Common Dreads will please existing fans. But to the casual ear, the eco-ranting of Juggernauts and Fanfare for the Common Man – inspired apparently by local resistance to a Tesco in St Albans – result in a titanically inadvisable mash-up between Gallows and John Craven’s Newsround.
