From its office in Lincoln’s Inn — in the heart of London’s historic legal district — Edwin Coe advises UK and internationally based clients on business and personal matters across a wide range of practice areas.

It has a well-established contentious practice, which often acts for large groups of claimants in insurance, competition and complex financial disputes, as well as property litigation and insolvency, mediation, and arbitration.

The firm specialises in representing policyholders against insurers and has acted for many small and medium-sized businesses in Covid-related business interruption claims and coverage disputes. This includes the policyholder-friendly landmark High Court decision in Corbin & King v Axa, which extended the scope of policy coverage for businesses.

The firm’s competition law team is representing more than 100 companies in the truck cartel litigation in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, with claims in excess of £150 million. The case follows the admission to the European Commission by five truck manufacturers that they participated in a price fixing cartel against purchases of their trucks from 1997 until 2011.
