Dutch hotshots are a worthwhile buy

GET with the Dutch “hotshots” when Holland play Ivory Coast in their group C clash in Stuttgart on Friday (live on ITV at 5pm).

Sporting Index have framed a market where 25 points are awarded to any goals scored by Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben or Robin van Persie. They look a formidable trio to have on your side, so buy at 19.

Holland won their opening fixture 1-0 against a well-organised Serbia & Montenegro and know that another success will all but guarantee them a berth in the second round. Robben stood out in that contest and slotted home the only goal of the game.

The Chelsea man, who has scored six goals in 19 international appearances, will again take some containing, although Van Nistelrooy’s record at the highest level - 26 goals from 50 matches - suggests he is the most likely to find the back of the net for us.

The 29-year-old had a disappointing time for Manchester United last season, although those who think that he is past his best should note that he still finished the campaign with 25 goals. He was substituted with 20 minutes to play in the Serbia match, but he worked hard and is likely to get more openings this time as Ivory Coast, who lost 2-1 to Italy in their first game, cannot afford to sit back and defend.

Van Persie is a decent third card to have in our pack. His record of 21 goals from 39 starts for Arsenal speaks for itself and it can only be a matter of time before the 22-year-old makes his mark at this level. So far, he has one goal for his country from six starts.

If any of the trio do not get on the pitch, Sporting Index award eight points.
