Oliver Parker, 18 (2009)
Ben Barnes channels Keanu Reeves for his role as Oscar Wilde’s most well-drawn character. Dorian arrives in London young and naive, but after falling under the influence of the scurrilous Henry (Colin Firth), he sells his soul and becomes the most debauched character in Victorian society safe in the knowledge that a certain painting is growing old disgracefully. It’s not bad, but you can’t help thinking what Tim Burton would have done with Wilde’s chiller.
