Laura Trott completed a hat-trick of gold medals and Katie Archibald took two titles in a day as Great Britain finished on top of the medals table at the European Track Championships in Grenchen, Switzerland.
Trott rode in the women’s team pursuit squad which dominated the event last week and also won an individual gold medal in the scratch race on Saturday.
Yesterday she comprehensively took gold in the omnium, winning four of the six events and finishing second in the other two.
The Briton lapped the field in the elimination race to wrap up gold.
Archibald had survived a brush with the pads guarding the inside of the track in the individual pursuit final but led Élise Delzenne from start to finish to defend her title.

She returned for the final race of the meeting to win the elimination race.
Earlier in the meet there were gold medals for the women’s and men’s team pursuit squads — including Sir Bradley Wiggins on his return to the discipline as he builds up to the Rio Olympics.
“I’m like an old boxer coming back to the ring,” he said. “You don’t want to get knocked down.” .
