Sir, I know we Brits are not used to hot weather but I hope we follow Italy’s lead (report, June 24) and have some sort of dress standard imposed. Nothing is worse, when deciding which frozen meal to buy, than to have some half-naked person opposite.
Recently I and, to judge from their expressions, fellow commuters were less than happy to share a carriage with a woman wearing shorts more like bikini bottoms. I am not a prude but there really is a time and place for everything.
