If you have high blood pressure, there may be an unexpected benefit of treatment with a beta-blocker drug: a lowered risk of bone fracture.
A report in the Journal of the American Association found that in people who were prescribed beta-blockers such as Inderal, the risk of a fracture was reduced by 20 per cent even when other factors known to alter fracture risk, such as smoking and body weight, were taken into account.
