Dismissed bomb victim sues

LONDON A woman who was injured in the July 7 bombings is suing her former employer for dismissing her without making allowances for the trauma that she had suffered.

Nattashar Gittens, 30, a personal assistant, says that she was physically and mentally scarred by the bus bomb in Tavistock Square. The James Harvard International Group was aware of her injuries but failed to take them into account, it is alleged. Instead, the recruitment company is said to have dismissed her for poor performance weeks before she became eligible for protection under employment law.

Ms Gittens is taking James Harvard International to an employment tribunal under the Disability Discrimination Act; it denies the allegations.
