Led by three female partners, Didlaw is a niche discrimination law firm specialising in the rights of people with disabilities and long-term health conditions in the workplace. Its name signals its special interests in disability, illness and discrimination, including sex discrimination, pregnancy and maternity, and whistleblowing.

The firm has a strong practice in women’s rights and sexual harassment cases led by Elizabeth McGlone, one of its partners. She represented Denise Fahmy, a former employee of Arts Council England (ACE), who claimed that she was subjected to harassment for her gender-critical beliefs.

Fahmy was called a neo-Nazi and a “cancer that needs to be removed” by colleagues after she questioned a decision to withdraw funding from a gay rights group that ACE said was transphobic.

Leeds employment tribunal found that ACE had not adequately protected Fahmy from harassment. Fahmy subsequently reached a settlement with her former employer.
