Every lecher tells a story

In many ways, they are chips off the same block. But when Russell Brand, light entertainment’s roué of the moment, overstepped the mark with Rod Stewart, pop’s roué of yesteryear, there was little common ground. Brand, who appears to think the whole world is as gripped as he is by his sex life, claimed to “have had a go” (what a charmer!) at Stewart’s 27-year-old daughter, Kimberly. Stewart, infuriated, retaliated. “You mustn’t boast,” he told Brand. “I speak here as a father.”

Of course, Stewart is perfectly within his rights to defend the honour of his daughter. Then again, perhaps it’s just karma giving him a gentle nip on that famous bum of his. After all, how many fathers of 27-year-old blondes must Rod the Bod have infuriated in his day?
