Dial an orchestra is launched by Radio 3

MUSIC lovers who are unable to get to concerts can now dial up a musician to come to their home.

A nationwide scheme, to be launched today, means that up to 2,000 musicians from 30 orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, will make house visits.

Musicians on Call, made possible by BBC Radio 3, is a month-long initiative of Listen Up!, a festival of orchestras, available from October 5.

A spokeswoman said: “If you have a neighbour, friend or relative who is unable to get to concerts or looking after someone unable to leave their home, now is your chance to nominate them.”

Contact 0800 033033 from 9.00am today to nominate someone.
