One of Devonshires’ most notable instructions in the past year has been in the recovery of substantial funds lost from the highly publicised fallout from the demise of the law firm Axiom Ince. The work included obtaining freezing orders and advising on matters including breach of director’s duties, insurance, insolvency and regulatory issues.

The firm continues to be instructed over Operation Car Wash, one of the largest global corporate money laundering, bribery and corruption investigations, which led to the arrest and imprisonment of Lula da Silva, the president of Brazil and various executives at Odebrecht, an engineering conglomerate. The case has recently been referred to the Court of Appeal.

Work also continues in the defence of numerous military veterans facing investigation and threats of prosecution, including matters relating to the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
