DAC Beachcroft is a full-service corporate and commercial law firm, with particular expertise in healthcare and real estate, and one of the largest insurance practices in the UK.

It operates from 11 domestic locations, as well as internationally from offices in Europe, North America, Latin America and the Asia Pacific. In September the firm announced an association with Incisive Law to work together in Singapore.

In a high-profile public law and human rights claim, the firm advised NHS England in the case brought against it and the secretary of state for health and social care by Dr Cathy Gardner and Fay Harris, whose fathers died after testing positive for coronavirus. The High Court ruled that the government acted unlawfully by discharging untested hospital patients into care homes during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In other work arising from the pandemic, the firm is advising NHS England in the Covid-19 inquiry, and represented Allianz Insurance in cases relating to claims concerning losses incurred as a result of the government lockdown.

In other work, it is advising Countryside Partnerships on Peel Hall in Warrington, a residential and mixed-use neighbourhood of 1,200 new homes. It acted for Allianz Insurance in a case against the University of Exeter about the application of a war exclusion clause in a property insurance policy relating to an incident in 2021 when a Second World War bomb discovered during construction works on campus was destroyed in a controlled detonation.
