Crystal meth gets Class A rating

Methylamphetamine, or crystal meth, the highly addictive stimulant, is to be ranked as a Class A drug in Britain, the Government has announced.

The move comes after warnings from senior police officials that the drug could emerge as a mainstream stimulant within three years. Vernon Coaker, of the Home Office, said: “International experience shows it has the potential to be extremely damaging to individuals, families and communities.”
