Sir, Mr Geoffrey Silman (letter, June 25) suggests that Twenty20 cricket should be sponsored by an optician.

A start has been made. According to this year’s Wisden, umpires in the 2004 competition were offered free eye tests and prescription glasses under a sponsorship deal signed between the England and Wales Cricket Board and lens suppliers Sola.
