June 18: The Prince of Wales today visited Wiltshire and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Lieutenant General Sir Maurice Johnston).

His Royal Highness this morning unveiled a plaque on the site of the Hunting Lodge of King John to mark the 800th anniversary of the granting of Marlborough’s Royal Charter, Marlborough College, Wiltshire.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, The Civic Trust, afterwards visited the Waitrose Store, Marlborough, in Waitrose’s Centenary year.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Merchant’s House, Marlborough and met volunteers and those restoring the House.

The Prince of Wales afterwards joined a Reception of supporters of the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust before viewing the Wiltshire bobby Vans.

His Royal Highness later was formally welcomed to the Town’s celebrations to mark the granting of a Royal Charter by King John before joining a Reception of local people in Marlborough’s Town Hall.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel in Chief, afterwards visited the 1st Battalion, the Black Watch and met families and wives, Warminster.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Temenos Academy, this evening attended a Concert and gave a Reception.
