The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were present this morning at a Service in Westminster Abbey to mark the passing of the World War I Generation.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received at the Great West Door by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall) and the Chapter.

During the Service The Queen laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, World War One Veterans Association, was also present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh held an Evening Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Diplomatic Corps at which The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Air League, this afternoon received Air Chief Marshal Sir Brian Burridge upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Mr. Keith Mans upon assuming the appointment.
