The Queen held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

Her Majesty, Captain General, Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery, afterwards received Brigadier-General Ernest Beno (Commandant General).

The Queen held a Council at 5.30 p.m. at Buckingham Palace.

There were present: the Lord Mandelson (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Benjamin Bradshaw MP (Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport), the Rt. Hon. John Healey MP (Minister of State, Department for Communities and Local Government) and the Rt. Hon. Christopher Geidt (Private Secretary to The Queen).

Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

His Royal Highness, Patron, today attended Receptions at St. James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, University of Cambridge, this evening attended a Dinner at Boodle’s Club, 28 St. James’s Street, London SW1, for members of Boodle’s Club who are Cambridge Alumni to mark the Eight Hundredth Anniversary of the foundation of the University of Cambridge.

The Baroness Seccombe (Baroness in Waiting) called upon the Governor-General of Solomon Islands and Lady Kabui at the Rubens Hotel, London SW1, this morning and welcomed Their Excellencies on behalf of The Queen.

His Royal Highness later received the Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper MP (Prime Minister of Canada).

The Prince of Wales afterwards received the Hon. Michael Ignatieff MP (Leader of the Opposition).

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon arrived at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Montreal, Quebec, and were received by the Lieutenant-Governor (the Hon. Pierre Duchesne).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards attended a Meeting in Montreal with the Premier of Quebec (the Hon. Jean Charest) and Madame Michèle Dionne.
