The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Mrs Sirisena visited The Queen today.

Air Vice Marshal Michael Wigston was received by Her Majesty this afternoon upon his appointment as Commander British Forces Cyprus.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Irfan Siddiq (the Republic of Azerbaijan), Mr Charles Garrett (the Republic of Macedonia) and Ms Joanne Adamson (the Republic of Mali).

Mrs Siddiq, Mrs Garrett and Ms Elizabeth Eastwood were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr John Duncan was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as Governor of the British Virgin Islands.

Her Majesty, Patron, London Symphony Orchestra Limited, this evening gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace with a performance by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Mr Simon Halsey was received by The Queen later when Her Majesty presented him with The Queen’s Medal for Music.

The Lord Berkeley (representing the Master of The Queen’s Music) was present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

His Royal Highness, Freeman and Liveryman, the Fishmongers’ Company, later attended a Court Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

His Royal Highness later viewed the Exhibition entitled “War at Sea” and attended a Reception at the Somme Heritage Centre, 233 Bangor Road, Newtownards, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord- Lieutenant of County Down (Mr David Lindsay).
