His Royal Highness later visited Hopeman Harbour, Elgin.

The Earl of Wessex subsequently visited Gordonstoun School, Elgin.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening held a Reception at the Eight Acres Hotel, Elgin.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

September 4: The Princess Royal, Honorary Graduate, the University of Edinburgh, this morning attended the Seventh World Congress of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, the Exchange, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Mrs. Martin Hinds, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Lothian Borders Police Amethyst Team premises at Vega Building, Clocktower Estate, Flassches Yard, South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh.

The Princess Royal afterwards opened the Charlesfield Bridge at Almond Valley Heritage Trust, Millfield, Livingston, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Lothian (Mrs David Brydie).
