November 28: The Reverend Canon John Hall was received by The Queen this morning upon his appointment as Dean of Westminster.

Mr Justice Irwin was received by Her Majesty upon his appointment as a Justice of the High Court when The Queen conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Timothy Barrow (Ukraine), Mr David Powell (the Kingdom of Norway) and Dr Valerie Caton (the Republic of Finland).

Mrs Barrow and Mrs Powell were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Francis Martin was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Botswana.

Mrs Martin was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Reception at St James’s Palace to mark the Three Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Jewish community in Great Britain.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Life Member, Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, today presented The Prince Philip Award at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Sierra Leone Armed Forces Guma Jungle Training Camp, Guma Dam.

The Prince of Wales this evening arrived at Abuja International Airport, Nigeria, and was received by the British High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria (His Excellency Sir Richard Gozney).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, British Equestrian Federation, this afternoon visited the Greenwich Olympic Games venue for equestrian sport and afterwards attended a Reception at the Queen’s House, Greenwich Park, Greenwich, London, SE10, for owners of potential 2012 horses and presented the British Olympic Association Special Award for the Equestrian Athlete of the Year.
