The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Canadian Forces Base, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and were received by the Prime Minister of Canada (the Rt Hon Stephen Harper MP) and the Hon Peter MacKay (Minister of National Defence).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were entertained to Luncheon by the Government of Canada.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards drove to Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, embarked in HMCS St John’s (Commander Robert Clark) and were received by the Chief of Maritime Staff (Vice-Admiral Dan McFadden).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received with a Royal Salute and Her Majesty inspected the Guard.

The Queen, with The Duke of Edinburgh, sailed between the lines of ships assembled in Bedford Basin and Halifax Harbour and reviewed the Fleet.

At the end of the Review, HMCS St John’s anchored and Her Majesty, with His Royal Highness, witnessed an aerial display by the Snowbirds.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh disembarked HMCS St John’s and Her Majesty unveiled a plaque to commemorate the Fleet Review.

Her Majesty was presented with the Sovereign’s Sword to commemorate the Canadian Naval Centennial.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh walked along Maritime Museum Wharf to HMCS Sackville and, having been received by the Chairman of Canadian Naval Memorial Trust (Mr John Jay), Her Majesty unveiled a plaque to mark HMCS Sackville’s service to the Canadian people as the last remaining Corvette of the Second World War.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended the Celebration of Nova Scotia Reception at Cunard Centre, Halifax, and were received by the Premier of Nova Scotia (the Hon Darrell Dexter).

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning presented the World Ship Trust Medal to representatives from HMCS Haida at Government House.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Canadian Regiment, this afternoon received Officers from 2nd Battalion at Government House.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust Cymru, and Patron, the Young Dragons, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning attended a Prince’s Trust showcase in Portmeirion, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwynedd (His Honour Huw Morgan Daniel).

His Royal Highness, President, Business in the Community, afterwards attended a Meeting at Tudor Hall, Portmeirion, to discuss business and education in Wales.

The Prince of Wales, President, the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, and Patron, the Red Squirrel Survival Trust, this afternoon visited Plas Newydd Country House and Gardens, Llanfairpwll, Anglesey, to view red squirrel conservation work, and afterwards attended a Reception.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Portmeirion.

Her Royal Highness, President, Barnardo’s, this afternoon visited Caban Bach Family Centre, Rhes Meirion, Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex today carried out engagements in Jersey and were received by the Lieutenant Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Bailiwick of Jersey (His Excellency Lieutenant General Andrew Ridgway).

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, Patron, Mencap, this afternoon visited Jersey Employment Trust, Acorn Enterprises, la Rue Asplet, Trinity, to commemorate the Sixtieth Anniversary of Jersey Mencap and were received by the Bailiff of Jersey (Mr Michael Birt).

The Earl of Wessex and The Countess of Wessex, President, Girlguiding UK, later visited Samarès Manor, la Rue de la Blinerie, St Clement, to commemorate the Centenary of Girlguiding.

Their Royal Highnesses subsequently visited Glanville Home, St Mark’s Road, St Saviour, to mark its One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this evening attended a Dinner given by the Bailiff of Jersey at Highlands College, St Saviour, Jersey.
