The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today visited Dorset and were received on arrival this morning at Weymouth Railway Station by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mrs. Anthony Pitt-Rivers).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, Osprey Quay, Portland, and were received by the Chairman (Mr. Edward Leask), Mr. John Tweed (Chief Executive) and the Mayor of Portland (Mr. Richard Paisley).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh viewed sailing and water sport activities and met Olympic and Paralympic sailors and schoolchildren, before embarking in a motor yacht and travelling to Weymouth Harbour.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness disembarked at the Harbour and were received by the Harbour Master (Mr. Peter Mole).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove to Weymouth Esplanade and were received by the Mayor of Weymouth and Portland (Mrs. Anne Kenwood) and Mr. Thomas Grainger (Chief Executive), who escorted Her Majesty and His Royal Highness onto the beach where The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh viewed beach attractions and met those involved.
Her Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, this afternoon opened the redeveloped Tank Museum at Bovington and was received by The Duke of Kent (Patron), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (General Sir Roger Wheeler) and Mr. Richard Smith (Director).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh viewed the Royal Armoured Corps Memorial, before meeting staff, trustees and military personnel.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were entertained to Luncheon by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and afterwards viewed a display of tanks before meeting serving and former members of The Royal Armoured Corps.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later visited Goldy’s Farm Shop, Lytchett Matravers, and were received by Mr. Christopher Lees (Landowner) and the Directors (Mr. Guy Lamstaes and Mrs. Jennifer Goldsack).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness toured the shop, meeting members of staff, and The Queen viewed schoolchildren making bread whilst The Duke of Edinburgh viewed the Energy Centre.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this evening took the salute at Beat Retreat on Horse Guards Parade, London SW1.
The Queen and The Duke of York witnessed the Parade.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Countess of Wessex later opened renovated premises at Bishop Ian Ramsey Church of England Primary School, Manor Road, Medomsley, near Consett, County Durham.
