The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning inspected The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

The Lord Davies of Oldham (Captain), Major Charles Enderby (Lieutenant), Major Thomas Wills (Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant), Lieutenant Colonel John Moss (Ensign), and Brigadier David Innes and Colonel Michael Kingscote (Exons) were on parade.

The Body Guard received Her Majesty with a Royal Salute.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the Body Guard gave three cheers for The Queen and marched past Her Majesty.

The Band of the Scots Guards, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Owen, was on parade.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon departed Waterloo International Train Station for Belgium.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness this evening arrived at Midi Station, Brussels, and were received by The Crown Prince and Princess of Belgium and Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium (His Excellency Mr. Richard Kinchen).

The Countess of Airlie, Mr. Edward Young, Commander Heber Ackland RN and Squadron Leader Andrew Calume RAF are in attendance.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Mr. George Courtauld (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Essex) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Colonel Sir John Ruggles-Brise, Bt. (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex) which was held in Chelmsford Cathedral this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Major the Lord Glenarthur.

By command of The Queen, Sir Anthony Figgis (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. D?ithí O’Ceallaigh at 17 Grosvenor Place, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Ireland to the Court of St. James’s.

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mr. Roger Bright (Chief Executive of the Crown Estate), Mr. David Shaw (Head of Retail Portfolio) and Sir Jeremy Dixon (Architect).

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Army Air Corps, this afternoon presented Operational Service medals to members of 9 Regiment who have recently returned from Afghanistan.

The Prince of Wales, Chairman of the Trustees, Royal Collection Trust, afterwards chaired a Meeting of the Trustees.

His Royal Highness, Patron, later received participants from the British Army Antarctic Expedition 2007-2008 and Solo Antarctic Trek 2008.

The Prince of Wales received General Robert Baxter (Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Health).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Richard Stanford (Commanding Officer, Welsh Guards) at St. James’s Palace who presented Her Royal Highness with a Commemorative Brooch in recognition of The Prince of Wales’s position as Colonel, Welsh Guards.
