The Queen this morning visited the Ashmolean Museum, Beaumont Street, Oxford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr. Timothy Stevenson), the Chancellor of the University of Oxford (the Lord Patten of Barnes) and Councillor John Goddard (Deputy Lord Mayor of Oxford).

Her Majesty toured the new Galleries, escorted by Dr. Christopher Brown (Director), before officially re-opening the Museum.

The Queen this afternoon visited Brasenose College to mark its Quincentenary and was received by the Principal (Professor Roger Cashmore).

Her Majesty met groups of undergraduates and post-graduates, staff and Fellows before being entertained to Luncheon by the Principal in the Dining Hall.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Dinner Party at Windsor Castle this evening.

By command of The Queen, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Claver Gatete at 120-122 Seymour Place, London W1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Republic of Rwanda in London.
