July 31: The Queen, Captain General, Honourable Artillery Company, received General Sir Alexander Harley upon relinquishing his appointment as President and Colonel Commandant and General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman on assuming the appointment.
General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman was subsequently appointed as Aide-de-Camp General to Her Majesty.
The Lord Hannay of Chiswick was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Companion of Honour.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning presented The Queen’s Jubilee Medals to the crew of Caister Lifeboat at Sandringham House, Norfolk.

July 31: The Prince of Wales today visited Carmenthenshire and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed (Lord Morris of Aberavon, KG, QC).
His Royal Highness, Patron, Business in the Community, this morning visited Llanddarog village, Welsh winner of the Calor Village of the Year Competition, 2002, Llanddarog.
The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited Tenby Observer to mark its 150th anniversary, Tindle House, Warren Street, Tenby.
His Royal Highness later visited Tenby Museum to mark its 125th anniversary, Castle Hill, Tenby.
The Prince of Wales afterwards opened Pembrokeshire Meat Company abattoir, Withybush Industrial Park, Haverfordwest.
