November 22: The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended a Service of Thanksgiving in Southwark Cathedral, London SE1, to celebrate the Life of Sachem Mahomet Weyonomon, an Eighteenth Century Head Chief of the Native American Mohegan tribe, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (the Lord Imbert), the Bishop of Southwark and the Dean (the Very Reverend Colin Slee).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards viewed a traditional Mohegan burial rite and The Queen subsequently unveiled a monument to Sachem Mahomet Weyonomon.

The Rt Hon Tony Blair MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Royal Hussars (The Queen’s Own and Royal Irish), this evening attended a Regimental Dinner at the Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly, London W1.

November 22: The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning attended a parade at Hyderabad Barracks, Colchester, and presented Operational Service medals to members of the 3rd Battalion who have recently returned from Afghanistan, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).
