Couch Potato with Rick Broadbent

The finals at Wimbledon, the Tour de France and Kaye v Klitschko are among the essential viewing for Rick Broadbent over the weekend

Tour de France Today, noon, ITV4

If you can ignore the drugs and shaved legs, then marvel at the poppy fields, Pyrenees and Phil Liggett, one of the best commentators on the box, but alas one who does not know his Arsenal from his elbow and hence unlikely to get a MOTD slot.

Wimbledon final Today, 1pm, BBC One

The highlight so far was seeing Marion Bartoli have her dad kicked off court at Wimbledon, but alas she has gone home, presumably straight to her room. Will those who contest the final top that by bad-mouthing their granny? We can but hope.

Haye v Klitschko Today, 8pm, Sky Box Office

This is one blood-fest we would have watched even if David Haye had not spent years talking about ripping heads off Ukrainians for entertainment. Something has to give in this heavyweight bout, and I don’t just mean you and your £14.95.

Wimbledon final Tomorrow, 1.05pm, BBC One

Couch notes the increasing rants against Wimbledon’s middle-class status with interest, not least because we thought that was rugby union. Nothing is inclusive these days, not even darts, with its ban on cravats and players called Toby.

International volleyball Tomorrow, 4pm, Sky Sports 4

Like the playground geek who never gets picked, volleyball was one of the few sports where anyone could have an Olympic ticket. See for yourself if it is really that dull with a match between crowd-pleasers Belgium and Great Britain.
