Sophie Wright was not one of two teenage friends killed in the crash which resulted in Christopher Kitley being jailed for two years at Guildford Crown Court this week (News, January 17). Miss Wright was seriously injured, while her best friend, Lucie Hampson, and Jamie Clayton died. We apologise for any distress caused.
Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School should have been included in the list of top grammars for GCSE, in 21st place (Schools Report, January 19). Newcastle-under-Lyme School was omitted from the Staffordshire rankings but was second, with 98 per cent of pupils passing five GCSEs at grades A* to C.
